The Ultimate Sony Xperia S Accessory Pack Review

After just getting my Xperia S, the nice people at Mobile Fun were kind enough to send over the modestly named “Ultimate Accessory Pack”.

The pack aims to fulfill all your accessory needs from the bat, including a car holder, a car cable, a desk stand, a mobile stand, a soft silicone casing and a screen cover.

The pack costs just £19.95 from Mobile Fun, was it worth it? Did it live up to it’s name? Find out more after the break.

The Case

The case included was a black sticky soft silicone variety that squeezed onto the phone with ease.

The case protects the back entirely and the sides have well placed and well finished button holes so that you can go on using your Xperia as normal.

This silicone case is slightly larger than others I’d tried and actually had a lip around the front which was convenient as raised the sceen up from the desk or wherever you had it laid for protection.

The case did pick up dust and fingerprints like a Sony Vita, which is a bit of a PITA, but a quick wipe and its business as usual.

An all round good Xperia S Cover for the cash though.

Screen Protector

Not many people realise that the Xperia S actually comes with a screen protector on it. It’s added by Sony at the factory, even though they give you one in the box and tell you to also apply that one too. So I’f you’d done as you were told this would be the third screen protector you’d have on your phone….don’t.

Obviously if you’d messed up your second, then carry on, but honestly, I cannot see any reason why anyone would want more than one on their phone at any one time.

Still  it is certainly nice to have a spare to protect that lovely high-res LCD display.

Car holder and cable

I must have been out of the game for a while as it appears most car holders or cradles look like this now, I was very impressed. A small circular unit which you unscrew to release and add suction (for windscreen mount) with a rounded, spring loaded, phone holding head that folds out of the unit on a small arm. This phone holding bit is attached by a ball and joint for ultimate positioning and the whole thing works very, very well.

Coupled with an elegant coiled 12v car charger, the perfect accessories for any traveler.

The S Stand

This is quite a sweet and elegant desk stand. It’s basically a piece of aluminium in an S shape with the top surface covered in Clingo like material to stick your phone to.

The stand held the phone in place fine without a cover on it, with a cover on it slipped down off odf the grip of the clingo, but still held the phone in a stable position.

The best bit is without a phone on it it is very low profile and doesn’t take up a ton of room.

The Rubber “Punch Ball” Stand

A cool and basic rubber arm attached by a simple suction cup. You stick it to the back of your phone to allow it to be propped up at an angle to watch videos etc.

To conclude, a great collection of items for a great price.
