Palm Pre Launched in USA
So the time has come. After an emormously long wait and a huge amount of hype the Pre is now on sale to general public in the US.
The launch went without any major hiccups. Lines were seen outside of Sprint stores across the country as Sprint employees let 10 in at a time to purchase their Pres. The entire purchase / activation process as taking around 35 minutes on average and there are no reports of any serious issues in the process.
While stock levels were limited, there are no reports of massive disappointment and daily deliveries are expected for all all Major sprint stores nationwide.
The handset has already been dissected and the parts are said to be worth around $170 un-assembled, which makes the $200 price tag quite appealing.
Now it’s only a day before Apple’s big announcement, but we can’t see it matching this buzz. While Palm have released a new, higher tech, boundary pushing handset – it looks as though Apple are launching a cheaper, less impressive iPhone. We’ll have to just wait and see.
Now lets let the buzz start again for the GSM release…. Palm, are you listening?
