Apple trying to get Samsung Galaxy S III banned

Article by on Thursday, 7 June 2012

9m pre-orders (more than were placed for the iPhone 4S) and a huge advertising campaign for the Samsung Galaxy S III which openly slated the giant. If there’s one thing Apple has, it’s lawyers, and when they’re not all crying about how other people have used their precious designs, they’re whining about vague patents for things that shouldn’t be patentable. There I said it.

All giddy with excitement after a rare win against HTC Apple has now filed a motion against Samsung’s latest flagship device, claiming that two of its patents have been infringed.

The two patents in question relate to the variety of universal search employed by Apple’s Siri voice assistant, and how data like phone numbers, email addresses and hyperlinks are detected automatically through the voice control app.

Samsung and Apple were planning on sorting their s**t out after a judge had ordered them to. But Apple just can’t play ball. Risky at a time when Android is making serious headway.
