Things twitter won’t tweet

Article by on Thursday, 24 May 2012

Go to Twitter, type the words “get help.” Or try “get hungry” or “get high” or “get laid.”

Now send the Tweet. That’s right the tweet has vanished, in fact any two word combo beginning with get is deemed foul by twitter.

The “get” glitch, as it has become known, is a legacy bug from an earlier iteration of Twitter as an SMS service.

There’s also:

WHOIS [username] – which retrieves the profile information for any public user on Twitter. Example: whois mygreatphone or w mygreatphone, for short.

HELP – brings up useful tips

GET [username] – The latest Twitter update posted by that person. g [username] also works.

A whole list of text commands exists and shows no signs of being removed. I, however, had no idea!
