Mobile Phone Forums – Got an issue? Get the answers!
Mobile Phone Forum” width=”150″ height=”150″ />It’s been around since 2007, has over 110,000 posts from over 90,000 members and has been the no.1 point of reference for owners of popular handsets like the LG KU990 Viewty and the Samsung Tocco (overtaking their own official support forums in fact). We are of course talking about the MyGreatPhone forums.
I’d just like to take this opportunity to remind all visitors tot he site of what a fantastic resource this is, and how you, the community can and have shaped it over the years to be what you want.
Specific Handset Forums
You wanted dedicated forums for each and every handset from each manufacturer, well that’s what we did, we’ve created specific forums for iPhones, Palm Pre’s, HTC G1′s and all the other popular mobile phones, but we also remember that some people want support from simple everyday handsets so we provide support for those too.
Less Spam, more content
We have a dedicated team looking all day and throughout the night, working out which users are potential spammers and alerting the mods. We also have many hurdles during registration that a robot could not do. All of these things help stop spammers from signing up and posting (and all without the requirement of verifying an email address after registration – which everyone hates doing).
Featured Mobile Phones Sections
As the forum began to grew, we knew that our most popular handsets may get buried within their categories. To solve this we hand pick a selected of featured mobile phones with quick links to mobile phone wallpapers, purchasing the item in our shop and going straight to the forum, all in a fancy slider gadget.
We appreciate what our users do
Some users are extremely active and form the glue that holds the forums together, some post irregularly but when they do offer sage advice, some just like to help people and some just like to help the forum continue to run.
To ensure that users are recognised for their achievements there are a selection of user ranks (including a site team) which users can belong to. If a user makes it into the site team they have the ability to request new features and actually shape the day-to-day running of the site.
