Default Data plans how much is enough?

I'm on three in AUS. They have plans for 20mb, 100mb, 200mb, and 2 and 4 gb. I want to use my phone just for basic web browsing, email, facebook, occaisional google maps, skype etc. No MSN messenger or anything. Approx how many MB will I need in a month? I was thinking 100-200mb?

Any help appreciated.

So, let me get this straight...

You're using your phone to use skype? lol it's be easier just calling the person, as for facebook - use a computer man!!!

Ah i'd go the 100mb, but i mean all the stuff you can do normally can be done on a normal computer, the only real use i see out of that list is google maps, which you'd (hopefully) only use EVER if you got lost in the city or something, hopefully not to map out a route (that's why they have those weird things with pages called (get this) a Map/Street Directory)..

Ah I apologise, that was a tad harsh - but honestly, the amount you CAN save on an internet plan - you can save up for a GPS System for your car - theyre only about 200-400 bucks now-a-days. (few months saving??)

Anyway, back to my answer, pushing it for 100mb, but in your crazy scenario, yes i'd go that deal.

I went on the internet for about half an hour the other day and when i got my bill yesterday i used 35 pounds worth of MB, i dont know what exaclty the amount of MB was but its around 40-50 !! Im with 3 and my internet usage is unlimited so im paying five pound a month and 3 are losing 30, thats a great deal i think !!

By the way for 2-3 hours a day usage, get the 2 or 4gb one !

Skype is free to call other skype numbers on three so i guess that beats just calling them

Like Jayk says go for either of the gb plans as you will get stung using the others, becomes addictive after a while, so you need to be safe in the knowledge that you won't incur any additional charges.

I can use skype on my mobile to call my bro also on three (also with skype) when he goes overseas skipper, whats your problem? Of course i use internet at home, but sometimes i need it when i am out and about (emails are just one example). Its not that complicated, why do you think mobiles have internet on them?

Anyway, 3's data plans in aust are not all that great... i think 100mb costs about $8 to $10 a month which is obviously a ripoff compared to 5 pounds for unlimited, which is not even an option over here. I wouldn't use 2 or 3 hours a day, so maybe 100mb will do... Thanks for the advice
