ok, I have success

But that is one of the scariest things I have ever done with any phone.

Using lgmdp_h3g.exe and the auto-unlock "lg3g uploded by The New.exe" I successfully managed to download the nv, unlock and restore.

What was odd though (and worrying) was blank IEMI and Bluetooth numbers on the unlock program output after clicking appy. Even after restoring with lgmdp_h3g.exe the ieme/bt was reporting blank.

Anyway, I tried 3 different provider sims (all deactivated but still showed invalid sim before unlocking) and all seem to work and I can still make calls with my original Three sim - phew

If anyone else needs the lgmdp_h3g.exe app let me know in this thread and I will post it to megaupload or somewhere.

PS: For some reason whenever the usb cable is plugged into my phone, if I try and power off (or do a reset) the black LG screen is shown constantly with what appears to be a reload every 10 or so seconds. I am not sure if this normal, but it's quite worrying when playing at this level.

Yep its normal. dont worry..

I locked my phone to O2 by accident a week or so back while trying to help someone else out (silly me i know), but using this info has now restored my phone to its original unlocked state. Nice one !

Software revisions (V10a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h etc) are NOT updates but different Brandings! Swapping them will lose operator functions like MMS, internet etc! If you are unsure, don't do it!

Just wanted to say thanks to the original poster for bringing this info to us here and to those who were brave enough to try this first. Thanks for the guides and apps.

Also, thanks to whoever released this method originally, saved me 35quid!

I was a muppet and did the thing mitty thing without trying the backup. Yeah its late. And now whatever LGMDP I try (3g, Euro) it comes up with EMERGENCY MODE. I've got Enabler running, and its got its little On symbol as well. Tried this both off an on.

I can call and receive/send texts, but I BT number comes up blank. :S

there are a couple of different methods of doing this! so just saying you "did everything it says" doesn't tell the whole story does it?

if you want help, don't make us ask you.

Right well I ran mtty2 and typed in the words as described without doing the backup first by mistake. I then read that another guy done this but then done it the correct way and everything way fine.

So I also done everything the correct way as described, ran windows enabler, ran euro done the back up, ran mtty2 and typed in the words, then done the backup but my phone will no longer make/recieve calls and BT says i need to enter a number?? any help would be great thanks guys.

are you saying that you did a backup after you had already used the mitty software?

how far in the unlocking process did you get exactly before you realized you had no backup? did you enter both AT%SWV and AT%IDDE?
