just read in the forum you linked to that some guy had his IMEI & BT address swapped & now he can't make calls & can't get them swapped back either - BE CAREFUL with that app.

Default try this:

Please read this whole post before attempting this hack!

download the software package from http://homepage.ntlworld.com/s.trawb...ck%20Files.rar (2.19MB)

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

unrar package and run "windows enabler" - you'll see an icon appear in the taskbar next to the clock

run "LGMDP_EURO_1" (alternatively use the .exe required by your own network operator [3 = LGMDP_H3G] or location) & connect to your handset, select NV default (the checkmark will disappear) and press Start, backup of the NV file will begin and when completed the backup will be saved to a new folder in the LGMDP folder, allow the handset to reboot and auto reconnect! close the program.

Note: The backup is important! if anything should go wrong during the process, it will be neccessary to use the backup to recover your phone. DO NOT SKIP IT.

run "mtty2.exe" & select COM port for your viewty USB Modem (use windows "control panel>phone & modem settings" if you don't know your LG USB modem COM port number (it's different to the one used by LGMDP)! you can also change the port number (change settings) if it doesn't appear in the drop down list )!

in the window that opens type: AT%SWV & hit return\enter, you should see a response (OK), then type: AT%IDDE & hit return\enter, again you should see a response (OK) (all commands should now be displayed on screen).

Note: I found that the only way to write instructions to the phone modem with mtty2 was to insert an "Invalid USIM"! one that was blocked by my handset. It may be different for others.

exit the program & restart "LGMDP_EURO_1", connect to the handset & click the "Restore NV" button in the top bar, your backup should appear in a selection window! select it and retore to handset. If that doesn't work or the app can't find your backup - when the phone connects, tick the checkbox for NV default and browse to the nv backup file, then click start and after restore allow the phone to reboot, exit the program and it should now be unlocked.

close "windows enabler" by right-clicking the taskbar icon and choose quit.

thanks to: hack3r2k (who\wherever you are), zfgsm, doddsy, amaemia & Greedy432

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Edit: updated my package to include the full LGMDP package.

I'm now certain that the above method works! If you don't make a backup NV file & your phones functions are broken or disabled in any way! please don't p.m. me asking for instruction, as my first instinct will be to call you unpleasent names.

Strawbs i did it a different way, with the tools in here - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8ZGOOJLD

Backed up nv like you said, with the .exe in lgmdp_euro.

Then run lg3g.exe, check direct unlock then apply jobs, auto detects the phone through usb and then i restored the nv file.

Unlocked fine.

did you have to use an invalid usim or just the one that the phone was locked to?
