Sony have announced the Idou at the WMC but arn't saying too much atm. It's clearly a direct competitor for the iPhone (as are all touch panel handsets nowadays) and could mark the ever-nearing death of the digital camera.

here's what we know:

3.5" screen (resistive)
12.1 MP camera
Symbian (new version)

Looks like a souped up Viewty.

However, a 12mp camera doesn't mean its any good as the majority of people will end up printing images on 6x4"s which means there is no real need for a camera over 6mp.

Its all about the quality of the lens and the CCD

absolutely, most of these cam phones use a 2MP CMOS anyway, and software does the image processing, however things are looking better.

Still, breaking boundaries is always good, and Samsung seems to be doing a lot of that recently.

Wow, lots of megapixels there!
Tbh, i would buy it more becuase it looks nice, not because of the camera. A 2MP camera would do me fine!

I'm liking the Symbian OS, because it's more well developed by Nokia, and that there are many third party applications made for the OS.
