This seems like a great idea and will save people a lot of credit, thanks for the info!

I was just wondering whether anybody who has already downloaded a map of England in reasonable detail would be willing to upload a zip archive of their MGMapsCache folder for others to download.
My download for map tiles in the North of England has been going for 15 hours already and still probably has a lot left to download, and I'm supposed to have a pretty good internet connection!
So if anybody would like to offer any map folders they have already successfully downloaded please do so

I am so amazingly frustrated with this I have tried so many variations and have never seen a single map on my phone.

I have tried different versions of MGMaps.
I have have tried use entered region and using a use a .map files in gMapMaker.
I have tried different Hash sizes and Tiles per file settings in gMapMaker.
I have tried doing it with Yahoo and Google maps.
I've tried using a translater to read a7868519's blog entry.

So many people have got it working there must be something small that I'm missing or have done wrong.

Can someone please write a detailed tutorial for getting Google or Yahoo maps working.

you can try to search for a location that you know should be in the map you have downloaded, then when you see the red "you are here" point try zooming in or out, it could be that you do not have the zoom level set to one of the levels you have downloaded.

Thanks gladfisk but I've tried using the Go to option to go to the location I've just saved the maps for and checked all the zooms levels in that location and surrounding areas.

i did every thing said above.i also down load map from site.
then put it to the my card within mgmapscache folder.
then when i try to brows stores location from manu-maps-sored maps.it shows nothing in it.

please help me

Tried to download the*.map from the site, but it doesn't work ... zero byte file is downloaded. It's the same for Google maps, Yahoo maps etc; and also tried with both Mozilla and Internet Explorer.

Can someone help ? Many thanks.

same problem here as exerion. is there any good tutorial out there that includes screenshots?

does the map type URL need to be changed according to website hosting the maps ? such as yahoo, etc .. ?

Menu>Settings>Map>Map types>Add Custom Map
Map Type Name: GoogleMap
Map Type URL:http://mt.google.com/mt save

but there is no such thing is settings>maps?!?!?!

ok, im lost. i read through this and i dont see what im doing wrong. i have the mgmaps program installed in my phone, and i have all the setting how they should be. but when it comes to going to http://www.mgmaps.com/create, and downloading the .map file, i cant do that. i goto the site and its a bunch of settings, but no map at all... just a big blank spot.


what do i do to get the map file downloaded?

Hello and please help.

I have created and downloaded a map.. small one only one small city and made it through gMapMaker. Then i have moved MGMapsCache folder to my Memory Card as you wrote. But when i go on that location on phone i still see that grey screen with " Map tile not available please zoom out " and im using correct zoom.
