Page 45 of the manual, Technical Brief, part of the 3.7.10 Supported Multimedia Features (starting on page 44), right under Qcamcorder... there is: gpsOne

Can anyone explain meaning of this? Is Viewty capable of A-GPS, but there isn't any software that would support the chipset or is this just about the support for an external gps set?

Hmmm...... The Viewty has no capability for A-GPS, but maybe it's possible to install a A-GPS chip in it some how?

To my knowledge, the gpsOne chip only provides your position in case of emergencies. It is activated when calling an emergency telephone number, like 112 in most of Europe or 911 in USA.
(The chip could be used for other things, but in the Viewty, apparently, it doesn't.)

I have no clue which countries that use this technology, but in USA it's a part of their Enhanced 911 service.

I did some research like a year ago about this chip, and apparently some people had hacked their phones (same chip, not Viewty) trying to get the coordinates from it. They didn't succeed and it only resulted in unneccesary calls to 911.
