Default SOLVED!! These are the correct email settings for accessing Yahoomail on 02

I have spent the last couple of days trying to sort out accessing emails via the phone's email client software, without success. Until now!

So for those of you on o2 and with a yahoo email account here is what you have to do:

1) Set up POP3 email settings via your yahoo email account.
2) Go to "Settings" - "Email" - "Email Account" - push on the bottom left hand symbol and then push "add new"
3) Title: Yahoo (although you can call this what you want)
My Name: xxxxx (the name you want people to see when you send an email)
Username: Your yahoo username - DO NOT put @yahoo.co.uk at the end of it
Password: Your yahoo mail password
Email Address: Your full yahoo email address (DO include @yahoo.co.uk etc)
Reply Email Address: Your full yahoo email address (DO include @yahoo.co.uk etc)
Outgoing Mail Server: (This is contrary to the settings advice given on the yahoo help page, but this is what you need: smtp.o2.co.uk
Incoming Mail Server pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Mailbox Type POP3
Access Point 02 Mobile Web
Advanced Settings ON
SMTP Port Number 25
Incoming Server Port 110
SMTP Authentication OFF

I hope that helps some people - as I said it has taken me a week of trawling the web trying to solve this - and finally, this works!!

Happy Emailing!

Any questions, just let me know.

Did these settings actually help any of the members here? Or was my excitement at having worked it out all for nothing?! Lol!

If it says login failed, it means that you have not properly entered your username and password details in your phone's settings boxes.

Re-read my post and ensure you have done EXACTLY as I said with regards to how to enter your username and password.

Also definitely make sure POP3 is set up via yahoo webmail and that you have saved the settings. (I think there is a save button at the end of the POP3 settings page that you need to click on)
