Hello All,

i'm new here so i'd like to take this oppertunity to say hello

i'm not all that technical but recently bought this phone and really love it.
I do have a couple of issues though;

-why does it not show the faces in the emoticons but only : ) ?
-i can only send email and not receive

hope someone can help me out,

I agree about the emoticons, it is prehistoric that you cant put in proper faces. My sons pay as you go cheapy phone does proper smileys.
I have no problem receiving email as well as sending it. I am on o2. Can tell you settings if you are on o2 as well

You can only use emoticons via the sub menu in sms, there not real emoticons and yes the bloody phone receives them which is annoyin i know. For now your gonna have to put up with manually smiling im afraid. As for your email i havent set mine up as i'm always within a jump away from a connection

K cause i'm sad and bored, i havent set mine up for email but what network are you on. Also have you set "Allow email reply" to on as it defaults to off

Password: Your email password

Reply email address: Your email address inc o2.co.uk
Outgoing mail server: smtp.o2.co.uk
Incoming mail server: mail.o2.co.uk
Maximum Receive size: Whatever you want, I have mine set to 1mb(On unlimited data plan)
Mailbox type: POP3
Save To server: Your choice, i have mine set to On
Save sent mail into: Handset
Access point: O2 Mobile Web
Auto Retrieve: Your choice, I have mine ON
Advanced settings: On
SMTP port number : 25
Incoming server port: 110
SMTP authentication: On
SMTP Username: Your email address
SMTP Password: Your password
APOP secure login: Off
Then click save.
Works for me...good luck!!
