Default Music Player Fault - Music Skipping

Anyone else had this fault?

I transferred music to my SanDisk 4GB micro SD card using Windows Media Player 'Sync' facility. The card is placed into a USB card reader that came with it then placed into a USB port (I know I can set the phone as USB mass storage device and connect with USB cable but this was just done using the card reader when I first got the card yesterday).

I have approx 600 music files on the card so it's just about full.

I put the card in my Viewty and started playing some tracks but the music is skipping back a couple of seconds. It can skip back several times during playback of a song. Weird thing is the counter doesn't go back a few seconds in line with the music skipping back so when the song is coming to the end it ends early as the counter has come to the end of the song even though the song itself hasn't. EG, song is 4mins 36secs long and the counter comes to 4mins 36secs at the end of the song but as the song has been skipping it will end at the point in the song where it is only say 4mins 20secs instead although the counter is saying 4mins 36secs. Not sure if I've explained that well enough? Does this make sense? Bottom line is the tracks are skipping back a few secs and it shouldn't be.

Anyone else had this problem or got any ideas what it could be? Fault with card? Just a problem with the syncing of the card - redo it? Phone fault?

Thanks.

You can only put a card in the Viewty bigger than 2GB with 2GB max left

Cheers but don't see that being the problem. People are using 4/6/8GB cards with no problems so don't see it's anything to do with the capacity of the memory card. Nobody else having this same problem??

Well, I have in place a 4GB card and so far have no problem with the card being read. But the original poster is asking in regards to the music skipping.

I have that problem too. Since I ahve gone through a few other music phones over the years, I would suggest converting your music to a lower bitrate, it might help. Try one first before you go through the trouble of converting a large batch.

I would recommend 128, as I noticed those with higher bitrates than to skip.
