Default Echoes and noise

Hi!

The people I talk with on the phone are complaining over the sound quality.
Apparently there is a bad echo effect when I'm using the phones internal speaker (the usual speaker, not speaker phone or headset).

The echo is reduced by turning the volume down, so it seems like the speaker is causing vibrations in the phone housing and are picked up by the microphone.

Also, the microphone seems to either be a bit over-sensitive or the signal is being badly compressed. Either way, the sound from my phone is very noisy at the other end.

Is this a problem with every Viewty or should I return the phone for reparation?

Thanks in advance!

My Viewty is exactly the same, it must just be the way it's been made.

Oh no...

I was really hoping that it was fixable.

I'll talk to my network operator anyway to see if they can do anything about it.
It's really irritating having to repeat everything I say all the time.

Hi,

I have a similar problem.

Out of interest did you solve it?

Is there anway of turning the microphone off in a headset setting so that you are only using the microphone in the headset and not the one on the phone too!

Hope you have a solution

Cheers

BigV

Have had a similar issue. See threads below.

Sent my phone off to LG who have apparently found a fault with the handset and are repairing it.. What is annoying is that this is a problem straight out of the box. If this is the case and several handsets have the same problem, it would seem as if there is a general fault.

If nobody complains to LG nothing will get done about it. I for one will be complaining and insisting on receiving a new handset..

I just got my phone back from repair after the screen went crazy with the colors. I got a new back and it seems okey with the screen. But now my friends complain about the sound quality and exactly as you guys describe it. They say that there is a bad echo and I have to repeat myself all the time.

What kind of cheap crap is this phone made of?
Is there a way to fix or do I have to send it back to repair?
Another repair and I might consider telling the store that I don't want the KU990 anymore.

I don't have any issues with sound, signal or screen - so it can't be a general fault, although it could be a bad batch or two.

I had the opposite effect of what is being described. When i first got the phone and was making calls to certain people i was calling i could hear an echo of myself. The person on the other end was not hearing any echo or having any problems hearing me i was just having a problems hearing them from my own echo. The problem lasted a few days and seems okay now. I still don't know what caused the problem in the first place.
