Apple iPhone 3G, better than LG Viewty ?

I played with one today in cpw. I think th iphone is so slick,
the responsiveness of the touchscreen, the zooming in and out of screens etc.

I'd swap my viewty for one anyday of the week

1) i start saying only that LG was created in 1958 and Apple in 1976, so LG has 18 years of experience more than Apple...and while LG produces mobile phone by more than 10 years , Apple made now the first mobile phone...
so you can see the notable experience of LG

2) LG now is at the 3rd place in the mobile phone producer of the world classification , Apple isn't in this classification

3) around 45 billion of USD in 10-13 years (or less, i don't remember)

4) so there is a quality better than Apple

5) camera , display , dimensions , weight , and more better than Apple

so i can say that LG Viewty is one of the best mobile phone on the market, i think that Apple Iphone is a mobile phone like another and it can't be compared to LG Viewty

Actually LG don't make mobile phones, they have third parties make them, then they badge them. This has been the case for all past and current phones.

Apple does the same, very few manufacturers assemble phones themselves.

The major difference is that LG also outsource the OS and UI development, apple do not.

The viewty and the iphone are different beasts, the viewty tries to be the best at everything and the iphone concentrates on core skills.

The iphone implements everything in a class of its own, and the viewty fails to deliver on everything it purports to.

The clearest indicator of a good product is the manufacturers willing to back it. Apple have put all their eggs in one basket and are now onto version 2 of that single product. LG take the maching gun approach and fire hot potatos that they drop instantly.

LG make great LCD screens, but when it comes to mobile phones they produce pretty badges with nothing behind or no interest in sold products or customers.

There is no contest from the perspective of a consumer.

All 3 without a contract - Tho you need a contract for your iPhone to work I think.

Maybe the price difference is huge, but I wouldn't but so much more almost nothing more, other than the brand.. (And how can you be proud of owning the apple brand >_> *Hides the iPod*)

well - i cant comment on the 3G iphone as ive only got a 1st Gen one... However - its only a recent purchase as for the past year ive been using a viewty.

The difference is staggering.

The Viewty was an amazing piece of kit it really was, and the camera is second to non (samsung omnia etc dont compare imo)- however once you get past the camera what your left with is a fairly run of the mill touchscreen mobile.

I was an apple skeptic i have to admit, but as ive been using the iphone ive been blown away at the polish of the OS. Everything is silky smooth, the 1st and third party support is second to non the fun factor is off the scale.

Games cant even be compared - my fav viewty game (asphault) is like a whole new beast on the iphone, so much quicker its untrue. plus i have a new fav (chopper)!

it goes without saying that on the music front theres no comparison eithier.

Dont get me wrong - the iphone is b no means perfect (some of this has been improved with the 3G version), no MMS, Text forwarding, Quiet Ringtones, video camera etc.... but once you jailbreak the iphone some of the missing features can be gained via 3rd party applications.

Overall - as a previous viewty user (and lover) you couldnt get me back to it now - ill stick with the iphone thanks.

However - the question isn't 'which is the better phone', the question should be 'what do you look for in a phone?'... If your after something thats a good all rounder and your main priority is camera quality - then the Viewty is the one for you.... if your after a smart phone where the 'fun factor' is more important than the camera then the iphone is the way to go.
