Apple iPhone 3G, better than LG Viewty ?

Sorry guys but i've gone over to the darkside and got myself an iPhone 3G and WOW!!

Sad to say i havn't picked up my viewty since.

Yes there is no mms function but there is an app for this and also a video recorder app once you jailbreak, so who needs Apple to release official apps for these

Bluetooth is a bit of a sore point as it is basically only for headsets

The whole iTunes thing is livable as there are plenty of programs that have been developed to do the same thing

But....

The UI is amazing

Firmware updates, on the regular!

Hundreds of apps, being updated constantly, i swear i have at least 1 app update every day.

The touchscreen is far better than the viewty, so much more responsive.

Far easier to enter the file system.

A dedicated Developement team that are making waves all the time.

And it costs me about £5 more p/m than my Viewty did/still is, so the price really isn't a problem, although i did pay £99 up front which is well worth it in the long run.

So, sorry if you guys see this as me turning my back on the viewty, im not, i will still share my knowledge with those that need help and support, but i thought i would show the sceptics what they are missing.

I'd say the Apple Iphone is better, especially with all the goodies you can download for it.

I know iphone has all the things viewty doesn't, except good camera and camcorder (widescreen+avi) function.
This is the reason why i'm still using viewty.

To me, it's an incorrect comparison - you want to be looking at the X1, Touch Pro, N97 or TG01 (maybe, just maybe, one of the Samsungs (omnia?), and the G1 once the apps stores gets up and kicking).

The Apple OS is slick, yes, but some things about it really annoyed me. No 3G in the first model? I had 3G on my touchscreen SE W960i in mid-2007! Even with the update, some things haven't altered. No cut-paste between apps? No MMS? No physical keyboard? No stylus (hence no handwriting recognition)? No office suite? Poor rendering of PDFs? Only a 2MP camera? OK, so there's a slick music player and a nice browser, but just get a cheapo Nokia with S60 on board or an old UIQ3 Sony and buy an iPod. Or better yet, get a Sony W-series! Even though I own the X1, my W960i still comes out with me when I go jogging (don't want to drop my new baby!) 8GB on-board as standard and a smaller footprint than the iPhone, yes please!

Actually, it's a better comparison than what you propose. Iphone is nowhere near any of the models you listed, not even in the same league and it would be a waste of time to even consider any comparison.

i have one viewty and my brother have one iphone, in my opinion viewty only lose in speed, touch screem, wifi and games because win in all others things. Cam(5 mp with 16x zoom), Flash, Fm, BT, Design, Themes, VideoCam(120fps), ISO, SmartLigth, etc
