Iphone VS viewty oO????

Hi all..


I've just read about the new version of Iphone that is suppose to come to europe..

At first I thought like... so what ??.. they are just putting 3g on etc.. But after I read other forums etc I found out that the new Iphone is getting a 5mp camera (with flash ?) and videocamera.

The Iphone got alot more memory than the viewty. like 8 gb, 16 gb and 32 gb ( coming soon ??).

I got a viewty. I rly like it, don't get me wrong. But I am getting a bit worried.. Iphone is getting a 5mp camera, viewty has also a 5mp, Iphone got a better touchscreen than viewty ( UI ? ), and it's perfect because it got alot of memory ( = alot of song, movies etc)...

Any thoughts :S?.. Should I be worried? Is it rly coming with 5 mp??.. than It's kinda knocking out viewty :S

Like the PC world, the mobile phone industry is a rapidly changing industry. The latest and greatest equipment today is out of date within 6 months.

When the new iPhone comes out, it will be superceded by some other phone within a few months.

so it's..true ... its gonna knock the viewty -.-... damn.. I bought my phone like 1 month ago bah.... but... WTF.!. the Iphone should be so expensive!??!? I mean... it's kinda ALL IN ONE phone :S!

Ye :P. but with the 5 mp camera it will most likely take over the viewtys place :O?

i don't like iphone.
i'm a bit preconceived about things that apple produces.
do i undrstand it correctly that I WILL need itunes for everything? without it i can't put anything into phone?
it has no bluetooth (!!!).. so i need to carry also another phone, in case i'll need to access internet via modem (this sux).
and the best part... you can not change the battery!!! so i'll need to have always a charger, iphone cable (no bluetooth, remember) and cd with itunes (if i want something from someone elses computer) with me.. that much of this cool device.. it's just a phone with browser (sounds cool, eh?).
and of course, this damn thing is locked.. so first it needs some hacking or some chip between phone and sim to make it work.

about camera- 1mpx, 3mpx, 5mpx,10mpx... i don't care. you can make only IMAGES with cameraphone. these are not PHOTOS. i can also draw IMAGES.. even small kids can for PHOTOS there are dSLR-s..

It's an iPod, of course you need iTunes. It may be bloaty but at least it works on both PCs and Macs, unlike LG or Nokia software.

Of course it's got Bluetooth - it just doesn't support stereo headsets at present, although the 2.0 software given out to beta developers at the moment has a stereo headset profile so that will be changing in June.

Has bluetooth, remember. No cable required. Agree on the not changing the battery thing, but hey, again, it's an iPod, there hasn't been an iPod yet that you can change the battery on.
And if you think it's "just a phone with browser" you haven't noticed that not all phone browsers are created equal. Try it, then try the Viewty's attempt.

Please explain the "want something from someone elses computer" thing? Something that can't be e-mailed? an mp3? I'm trying to see the circumstance, having never visited anyones house and decided I wanted something from their computer on my phone.

Yes it's locked - Then again, most Viewtys are locked, it's a simple software unlock these days, no hardware required, so although it's a different process, it's no harder than any other handset, and is arguably easier as there's no unlock codes to be obtained, simply run up a program, press a few buttons and you're done.

So what you've come up with is... you can't change the battery. That's it... nothing else. Oh nooooeeessss teh iPhone is doomed

the iPhone has bluetooth only for headsets

it will have the normal bluetooth(recieving and transferring files)

Nokias, Motorolas, LG-s, Samsungs and even cheap china phones can be set up as MASS STORAGE DEVICES.. they work even under LINUX!

Yeah.. I'm wondering how to connect PC/laptop/PDA to internet using only MONO HEADSET profile? Or.. stereo headset in June? Suggestions, anyone?

Ok, it has bluetooth (i knew that). But since I CAN'T DO ANYTHING with that (bluetooth headsets only and there is NO WAY i will put something like this into my ear- to look like a real dork) then for me- there is no bluetooth.

I mean i can use it as usb flash disk. Under any modern OS (linux/windows/mac os/whatever).. I still need cable for this (if computer has no bluetooth) but i don't have to install any special software to make it work. AND it also means that I CAN NOT exchange stuff between two phones... Yes, for example mp3's, photos, some random documents.. whatever.

Yeah.. and..
* UI is great (it'sd speed and visually), but not user-friendly
* too low ringtone volume :/ - no way wou could hear it on streets.
* s*itty sound quality (calls)
* no blacklist
* no sync via internet (syncml)... (shared calendar??)
* YOU CAN NOT SEND CONTACTS (or anything) TO ANOTHER PHONE!! that's just silly..
* no voice dialling (what's the point of bluetooth wich only supports usual hands-free profile? when driving? stop and dial?)
* no 3G... (with viewty i don't have to go to wifi hotspot to get faster connection)
* no JAVA

i do know that there are firmware updates in the future and so on, but.. why should i buy UNFINISHED PHONE? since at the moment it's just something, wich has BROWSER (wow). and mp3 player (another wow). and not-so-well functioning phone (making calls is like.. extra function).

it's so popular only because "it's an apple".

at first i was thinking about getting one (cost is same).
and i'm really happy that i didn't get one...
