Default Service Menu & Unlock Menu Code

Just found out two codes peeps mite be interested in

Just input on the dialing screen

Viewty Service Menu = 3845#*990#
Handy for testing and maybe sort out some probs.

Unlock Tool Menu = 2945#*990#
The menu for unlocking (not the code to unlock the phone)

Just be very careful on using these menus n dont blame me if it buggers up your pride n joy

*edit - Caution, we're not entirely sure what each function does at the moment so please only experiment at your own risk. We cannot be held responsible for any issues.

To scroll within these menu's please use the jog wheel on the back of the phone, scrolling using your finger-flicks does not seem to be activated in this environment. - Daz

Much love cougarkitt, you've just made my day.

I love it when somebody shows you something you haven't seen before.

Cheers.

We now have a method of seeing what versions of each aspect of the handset we're using.

If i use the top service code and go to the version page you are able to see SW version i.e. U990-MSM6280-V10a-OCT-01-2007-UK(R236015C)

Also shows offical HW Version )Hardware version as: NYX_12(C) Interesting they never really dropped the NYX codename.

Use c to go back through the menus and Red (end call) to come out all together.

I really hope the information now available helps in some way to open a backdoor into the handset. There are lots of test situations that I've yet to investigate that may offer a vulnerability.

Haven't done any of the tests yet though, fun

Okay, if you 3845#*990#, then go to Aging Test. What are all those numbers?

EDIT: Okay, don't press "Fill DB" as this fills all the items it lists there with blank documents as like test data.

Woo, I'm gonna have fun deleting this.

ALSO: Flip test?

Just a quick note: Accessing the service menu for me deleted all of my movies and pictures.

Proceed with caution.

If anyone's brave enough to do the factory reset, please post the results. I'm curious to see if it'll give me back the bits O2 have removed in a similar way to factory resetting my old T-Mobile Vario made it an I-Mate K-Jam with all the T-Mobile shit removed.

EDIT: Well, I just pressed "Factory Reset" by accident (note: be careful when finger scrolling through this menu; stupidly "Factory Reset" requires just a single press ). It's deleted all my contacts, pictures etc. and hasn't given me any Google apps (unless I'm looking in the wrong place), but it has given me Space Commando.

Thanks for the update.

Despite the unfortunate fact that you found the hard way that some items are deleted, at least we now know how to get space commando

Really though, thanks for your efforts.
