Hello
Hope everyone is alrite, well it's my first post .
I have a 10b firmware actually i got my phone in france
anyway, so i tried out the factory reset, aparently the operator is a bit more practical in france when u do the factory reset you go back to the state you bought the phone in.
It removes everything on the phone though.
date, time, ringtones, games, messages, contacts, just everything.

And the other code isn't working on my phoneset
i dunno why maybe it's the firmware variation

Take care
Stellaptico

Hello Floks!

Just done the factory reset from the service menu there for a giggle. Nah just kidding, the screens peeling apart from the handset so i'm getting a replacement.
What i found out from the factory reset is that it totally wipes anything you had stored on the handset memory and resets the phone to a brand new shiny one just like the day you got it. With annoying touch tones and all.
Another user posted that after the reset they got space commando on there handset, This does not seem to be the case with my t-mobile handset. So if you feel the need to use this feature i would reccomend saving everything to a memory card such as pics, vids and contacts as they will be wiped clean.

Hope this helps folk understand another service menu feature.

Factory reset, is what is it says it is, a reset to factory settings. Just did it on my orange viewty and it has retured the phone to the state it was in when i first switched it on out of the box. Good if you happen to be playing around and hit the aging test and cant be bothered to delete all the messages etc.

On my phone at least it left all the data on the SD intact, but i'd suggest removing it before resetting just incase it ran a format.

Perhaps a method of saving your personal setting would be a usefull feature, setting up all ones profiles and resyncing contacts and calender is a pain.

come on LG you can do better!

unbelievable!!!
i was really f*cked up of my google maps (installed 2.0 -> 1.6.2 -> 1.3 -> 1.6.4 -> didnt work -> couldnt install any other version) so finally i tried the FACTORY RESET!!! (just have to click on it - no question! just starting!)
and there was just a progress bar, and the phone rebooted...
sms, contacts and so on cleared, but i saved them (export) on my sd card so i just restored them...
next thing i tried was google maps - and WOHOOO got my primary installed O2-Version back! and its working again!
really great stuff!
i dont think i will touch my google maps again untill a really working version will be released
