Default removing o2 logo from viewty - a step by step guide

i've also posted the following in the 'problems' forum, just to make sure people see it:

i know i maybe repeating what others have already stated, but because i am not a computer programmer, and i can't be bothered following a dozen links, i have compiled a step-by-step approach for the lay person to removing that annoying o2 symbol from my viewty, using procedures from other forum members and a link - this is all you need to remove that logo in one place.

first, follow the following steps (from MiniBlueDragon off this forum):
Check that your phone is in 'Data Service' mode:-
1. Hit the icon with four dots.
2. Hit the bottom 'cog' icon.
3. Hit 'Phone Settings'
4. Hit 'Connectivity'
5. Hit 'USB Connection Mode'
6. Select 'Data Service'
7. Choose 'Select' (It should say 'Saved')
8. Keep hitting the backward arrow button to return to your main screen.

Find out what COM port your phone is using:-
1. Plug your phone into your USB Cable.
2. Go into 'Control Panel' on Windows.
3. Choose 'System Properties'
4. Choose 'Hardware'
5. Choose 'Device Manager'
6. Look under the 'Ports (COM & LPT)' branch and find 'LGE Mobile USB Serial Port (COMx)
7. COMx is the port your phone is connecting under

note: the'x' will be a number - my phone's was '9'

then follow the steps in this link:

http://www.nivelouk.co.uk/2007/12/how-t ... ku990.html

note: one step missing in this link is that 'IDLE' is found in the 'common' folder.

Otherwise, this is all you need. hope this help...

I will be making more tutorials once i know it will work. Once the guys get working on theme's and what not I will get more stuff up for ya. With the info that is going around it looks like alot of stuuf will be available.
I'm just glad to post tutorials, I know how frustrating it can be trying to work it out for yourself.
I also have my own server which i'll load any essential files onto.

you can try it for planet 3 and others, as the program that allows access to the phones files, for deletion, is not dependent on network. just make sure you fully understand what files you are deleting

Is it possible to delete this file using the EFS method in the top sticky? I get my phone on wednesday and the first 2 things I'll be doing are deleting the o2 branding and replacing the o2 theme with a new flash background.
