Force saving to DCIM folder on memory card??

I'm on a mac and it's a bugger getting files off the Renoir as things are saved all over the place on the phone. Movies, Images, etc.
Bluetooth has a file limit on the Renoir and is slow.
Macs recognise DCIM folders which are present on most other phones/memory cards.
If I create a DCIM folder on the memory card of the Renoir iPhoto recognises it and imports it directly - HUZZAH!
Is there anyway of forcing the Renoir into saving multimedia files into a DCIM folder created on a memory card instead of the default loaction?
A hack maybe?

Why don't you just rename the folder to DCIM when you want the MAC to recognise it?
