    Hi

New here, looks really useful and I'm looking forward to upgrading my firmware but want to backup first as advised.

My problem is I can't find a copy of EFS tools that works. The link in the download section comes up as corrupted when I unzip and I can't seem to unzip any RAR files from elsewhere.

Anyone point me to a working download please.

    Many thanks

    Simon

Hi. Thank you for the information infinite_fire. I'm trying to backup my 'Settings and messages', as described, but I'm struggling to open my phone in EFS Explorer.

I was trying to follow the EFS exploration thread. My phone was connected to my PC in 'Mass Storage' mode originally, and I could not 'Select Port' after clicking 'Read from Phone' in LGMDP, nor could I 'Select Port' in EFS Explorer (via EFS Tool). Nothing came up at all with 'Auto Search' checked.

I tried searching for the device using the 'Device Manager' icon in LGMDP but couldn't see it. I pressed to exit 'Mass Storage' on the phone itself and it tried to connect to the PC as 'LG Mobile USB Modem', but just came up in 'Other devices' in 'Device Manager'. Right click -> Properties, just said 'Location: Location 0'.

The hardware failed to install correctly as I did not insert the LG software CD, and I haven't got LG PC Suite installed, I was under the impression this was not necessary?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks.

    Hey

I wondered if any one would be able to help me. I flashed my Renoir last night with one of the custom firmwares on here, all is working well and everything, but is there a way of flashing the phone back to it's original settings?

Just in case I need to do it at one point or another.
