If i use the Yoshihiro's tool (EFS explorer) i do get connected, but my phone seems empty.
This explaines wy my phone wont start up and only give a message like "please wait ..."
Can i correct the problem by copy the whole contents of a backup of the LG renoir phone back to the phone

    Questions:
    Will it work?
And who can provide me with that backup copy ?

    Please help
You need to perform 'read service programming' with the LGMDP program first, then exit that and Yoshihiro's EFS explorer otherwise it will just show a folder icon and a backslash next to it.

I always do this with my phone off but if you're doing it with you're phone on make sure it's in PC Suite mode.

    Hi,
What do you think could be the problem, when my KC910 is still unable to connect to the LGMP when my phone is in PC suite mood? It's unable to read or detect my phone at all.

    JS.

This worked for me on my Renoir however after Renaming LGAPP to TOTO then restarting the phone to make changes to the files in TOTO I find that the phone has made a new LGAPP folder and it won't let me rename TOTO back to LGAPP because there is already a folder with that name.

So I rename the new LGAPP to deleteme and then it lets me rename TOTO to LGAPP again.

But now I have a folder called deleteme and no matter what I try I can't delete it, and so everytime I change something I end up with another undeletable folder.

I never had this problem on my Viewty, infact on my viewty it would let me rename TOTO to LGAPP even with the new LGAPP there.

    Can someone please help? thanks

I'm no expert, in fact I've yet to use EFStools, however, I did recall something from Jtribes awesome sticky that is perhaps relevant to this (see quoted section below). Basically it seems that rather than restarting your phone to make changes, simply right click to refresh the window, make your changes, then rename back to LGAPP before restarting.

    Connect to LGMDP
Connect to EFS(see backing up phone data above)
Navigate to LGAPP and rename this folder to TOTO(this allows editing)
Right click to refresh the window

Experts feel free to correct or confirm...

EDIT: PS I'm also on Virgin AUS so will be good to have someone for carrier-specific info!

    Couple of questions:

    1. Just wondering about the correct version of LGMDP to use on an Australian phone? It seems many here are Europe/UK users so it makes sense that they use the _EURO version, but what about down-under? If it matters my current S/W version is:
    KC910-MSM6281-V10f-JAN-16-2009-AU(R409615C)

I do note that the "Media Version" is ...V10f-JAN-16-2009-OPN-AU, so perhaps that means I use the _OPEN version?, however my reading of that is that this is for unlocked phones, which mine isn't.

    2. On a related matter, as you can see above when I check in the "secret" menu I find I have V10f S/W, but when I use the LG software updater program to check update history it says I have V10b. What gives?

    Cheers
