im not that much of a mobile whizz and hardly ever use the mobile internet even
its just im on a contract and dont want to try it and go over on my usage :S

anyway. . . once i have connected to my wireless router.. how d i access the internet? my phone is new you see and i am still working out all the kinks never had a phone this good

Just start using ur wap browser or something like opera mini, Make sure you have your WiFi connected before you start to use either, then it should automatically use ur WiFi if it doesnt it should ask how you want to connect, Just choose WiFi or WLAN (cant remember which option comes up) You can tell if its using ur mobile network (ie, costing you money) because the H or G or whatever above your signal meter will be red, it stays white when using WiFi.

Yeah, Im on contract aswell, If ur deffo connectin through your WiFi then its free, I use it all the time at home.

My phone works perfectly at the open school network but not on my home network. My Nintendo Ds, Wii and Psp work perfectly with my home router after putting in a WEP code so it's really disappointing that this phone(much more than any of the others) won't work.

Wi-Fi mac address
here's one way to get the mac address of the LG's Wi-Fi:
get yourself connected to a network one that you can connect to.
then with a computer that has the same wireless capability, connect to the same netowrk and use the command prompt to do an arp -a command of the ip address given to your LG.

As I remember from another post there's a code you dial: 3845#*910#
which opens up the manufacturer's page, a few options there, but the one you need to enter to get your mac address is option 20: Wlan Service
from here select Net Info, this should show your mac address, that's only if your Wi-Fi is turned on.

I don't know why but it only seems to work occasionally, sometimes it shows the address 00:00:00:00:00:00, which is definitely not your mac address...
