Default Meet the new Viewty!

The LG-KC910 is the perfect successor to the multi-million selling camera phone, LG Viewty. Like its predecessor, which debuted as the slimmest 5 megapixel phone, the LG-KC910 will be the slimmest 8 megapixel handset on the market at just 13.95 mm when released. This phone combines the latest multimedia features and an intuitive user interface evolved far beyond what Viewty offered. With this phone LG has created a multi-sensorial experience like no other, providing enhanced viewing enjoyment, superior sound and better use of touch.

The LG-KC910 leads the industry with its 8 megapixel camera, which is being developed to include Schneider-Kreuznach certified optics, a xenon flash and ISO sensitivity up to 1600. Further strengthening the phone’s camera features are image stabilization, auto-focus, manual focus, Face Tracking, Smile Shot and blink detection. An embedded GPS receiver gives the LG-KC910 the ability to geo-tag photos for later plotting on an interactive map. A variety of creative shot modes, so far only found on standalone digital cameras, will be included.

The handset’s perfect repertoire of high-end multimedia features provides the ultimate multi- sensorial experience. The LG-KC910 is the first handset for the global market to include Dolby Mobile, an integrated suite of audio processing technologies which brings depth and richness as well as clean, powerful bass to the music listening experience.

Video features are just as advanced as audio features. The LG-KC910 can record video from 5fps up to 120fps, which allows it to record in both fast and slow motion. The phone also plays DivX and Xvid movies straight out of the box, without the need for additional encoding.

A 3.0-inch WQVGA full touch LCD screen is the ideal canvas for experiencing and interacting with the LG-KC910’s multimedia features. A customizable interface, with numerous widgets and shortcuts, makes the phone’s myriad features even easier to use.

Rounding out the phone’s comprehensive feature set, are A-GPS enabled navigation, compatibility with the latest 3G HSDPA networks for connections up to 7.2Mbps and Wi-Fi for even faster internet access. The phone also includes a Jogging Buddy program that uses GPS technology to help track workouts, a feature sure to please exercise enthusiasts.

The KC910 will be available for purchase beginning in October. LG will release additional technical specifications and information on the LG-KC910, including details on its comprehensive capabilities and pet name.

So why not release the software for this phone for our oldschool viewty??

No lens cover still - duh!!

But wifi, gps and 8mp... thats nice.

Still without software updates they will lose to apple in time... sad but true.

Thumbs down Re: Meet the new Viewty!

Oooh I can't wait, 8mp when they can't even get good enough noise levels to make the 5mp usable AS A 5mp? That's gonna be great, although mind you I bet they look really sharp when re-sized to 1mp, unless of course they whack up the compression to reduce picture size to 500KB

And I bet the touch interface is sooo responsive, and the qwerty keyboard will be made easier to use by removing the letters q, l and m which will be easily accessible by simply clicking Insert... Symbol... paging through 3 screens and selecting the relevant letter

You'll not be able to listen to music when doing Anything Else, the browser will be a pile of wotsits and skinning the interface will be the proverbial nightmare from hell.

Oh and it won't talk standard SyncML so won't be able to synchronise without customised software that LG won't release for more than 1 OS despite promising firmware upgrades that never arrive.

This company can't even get the basics right! Wouldn't matter if the feature list included the Second Coming and free beer 24/7 (oh well, maybe I could be persuaded )

I went back to my old N80 last night and couldn't for the life of me work out why I'd "upgraded" all that time ago... the only thing the Viewty can do better is play music as the noise levels on the N80 are pretty much unbearable.

i really hope (though doubt very much) that in developing the software for this phone, they managed to squeeze out a one-off update for veiwty at the same time.
surely the interface and touch parts of this new phones software should be broadlly similar and therefore easily portable?

ugh im so dissapointed with the veiwty, which in itself is dissapointing! argh!

Sorry guys, I'm as upset as you are with my Viewty! This is just a press release, written most probably by LG themselves, and the only useful information in there is the phone's specs. Everything else is crap.

I must admit this phone, just like the previous model, looks "Too good to be true", which is applicable for everything LG makes in the form of consumer products.

I just hope they've learned a lesson, but I seriously doubt it.

You guys must all be expecting wayyyy to much from you viewty or something. I love mine and have no problems with it. Again like i said before maybe its because i live in the usa where we dont get 70% of the phones that you guys get.

The viewty has always received mixed responses.

I imagine this handset will be the same.

Played with aBlack Berry bold earlier at the IBS exhibition in Cardiff. It was lovely.
