How to root your hero and flash custom ROM/Recovery

You should have seen that it says CDMA Heros aren't supported by my guide, and if it worked then you would flash a GSM Hero's recovery and your phone would be bricked.

Check what I cleared above in 1st post.

"Please check your Hero , if it is a GSM proceed, if it is a CDMA don't try because you will brick it (GSM= takes SIM card , CDMA= Doesn't take SIM card)"

hm oke..nevermind...
but nowwww im stuck with something else! Ya'll know the unlockscreen with the dots right...oke so my hero is acting really strange since a few days....screen doesn't do what i say...i tap 'e' and get the 'x' instead..all that kinda stuff..and it flips...i mean..i don't touch the screen and it moves from itself....really scary...:P (i shall try and make a vid of it, if it happens agian)
back at the unlockdots...i did my unlock thing 5 times...and then you must wait 30 seconds...soooo...did that...and if you dont get it right this time..you have too give your Google-account data (e-mail&password) i did this like 100 times!!!!! But i dont get through it!! %&(&))*##*...serieusly...wtf...and i cannot connect it with the pc...(even if...i cant do the Nandroid backup...so...) but yeah...have to find the T-mobile agreement and go to the T-mobile shop...(for the third time!!!) And tell'em whats the deal...have to send it for repair....and hopefully the htc company can make a backup for me...and finnaly repair it...that would be cool....

You have the same problem as me, and all the Hero users. To fix your "keyboard" problem you need to recalibriate your keyboard (Go to Settings, you will find it). For all the other problems I suggest to update your phone to latest official ROM. If you have a T-Mobile Hero then call them and ask them how to do the update, because I don't have this kind of Hero and I don't really know about it

But like i said, i can't get in my own phone. And thats stressing me! And if i go to the t-mobile shop all they say is: 'yeah you should do a backup......'' me: A backup?? with the htc sync?? 'Yeahh that should do it'
But with the htc sync you CANNOT do a backup! If we could i already done it.
And now, i cant get in my phone...so thats pretty $%*&.. situation!
Why is HTC so difficult.... i mean with al the software and stuff....oh well...

oke good news!!! I did a wipe all data, from the hold menu en home button..and geuss what...i kept all my contacts and files ( photos and other things in my mmc...because i did not had the mmc in my Hero when i wiped it...) but everythin else is standaard...i allready had done a backup of my apps so i installed a few more important for me...

And now i have to get me the update from T-mobile onto my Hero.

btw, my buttons dont light up..they stay off all the time..even when somebody calls me or i push a button...:S:S and this i why it should be sent for repair..
