Default It there such a thing as KU990R?

I've been looking at GSMARENA.com and checking out the LG Viewty when I've tried reading the user opinions to the phone. I know the difference with the LG KU990 and KE990 but then some guys started saying that there is a new Viewty which HSDPA and has a CAMERA LENS COVER! (KU=HSDPA, KE=LENS COVER). They say it is called LG KU990R... I've tried looking for that device, even on LGMOBILE.com but still don't have a clue if it is true or not... Maybe you guys can enlighten me on this one...

I have one Here is a snapshot of the half-open shutter, you can clearly see the shutters switch on the left side of the lens. This version has HSPA and interspeed is quite fast when you're in reach of that signal, otherwise it's 3G. (just click on the image to expand to full size)

WOW! so there's really such a thing! I guess the main difference (besides the lens cover) is the manual focus on the back... Seems like on this version, it's a wheel, and not a jog wheel... Gonna keep a look out for this one instead, right now all I can see in stores are the one with the jog wheel... Hey thanks for the info! That really made my day!

The only thing wrong with the KE variant is that it has no 3G, only GPRS/Edge.

Hi, a KU990R owner here. Since they've released this improved version of the Viewty, I can only hope that they continue refining the firmware as well.

I am saying this because the bugs that are present in the KU990 are still present in KU990R (I'm also experiencing the sound disapperance when recording videos)

Nice to know a fellow KU990R user here! (Although I don't have one yet hehehe)

Now that's bad news... Is there any way that if ever they release a firmware upgrade, where can i download it (if its downloadable)? Man, we don't have the KU990R yet here. I've asked around and they only have the KU990... this waiting game really gets into me hehehehe... Hope it will be sooner though... Can't wait to join the ranks of you guys owning one of the best mobile phone in the world! (My opinion...)

Hey fellow owners of the KU990R, could you please look at this thread? I really need a working Firmware for this phone cause the one that came with mine does not work, so if you could please back up your firmware and upload it it would save me 5 weeks of waiting for them to repair it...
