Having Probs reinstall LGAPP ... pls help

Hi all

I did the absolute stupid thing of trying to change the LGAPP in EFS to TOTO and create a new backup of my files.... But duhhh I allowed the LGAPP to disappear as I failed in the name change. I have after hours of work managed to get my phone almost up again.

I have a KU990GO, that had Firmware O2 Branded V10a UK. After hours of work I have managed to get it installed but there are systems that dont work. I have a copy of my LGAPP and have tried for hours to reupload it to the phone but it keeps failing. All goes well until it reaches the pxo folder then fatal errors and removes the files. Every other folder and file has gone in except this one. It has created the folder but there is nothing inside it... I have chnaged the file perms in my windows 7 system to allow. Still nothing....

Has anyone any ideas as to what I am doing wrong please. I was told you couldnt restore a KU990GO it had to be repaired by LG, but I have almost done it except for this one error...

Please if you can offer any advice it would be appreciated. Many thanks from a very frustrated brummie...

I think I may have worked it out... The folder on my phone was LGAPP, and the folder on my laptop backup was TOTO. I have renamed the one on my phone TOTO and its now transfering it..... Am I correct with this....

You have TOTO on your PC. Delete LGAPP from phone with EFS and transfer the TOTO back. But transfer it back with the name TOTO, otherwise it won't upload the PXO folder. When its done you will need to rename the TOTO (in your phone) to LGAPP and reboot.

Actually I don't think it will work because "flashing" the phone with a backup firmware has failed on me.

It has worked and my KU990GO is back as it was when I first had it about a year ago.... Just runs a bit slower than it did... But its working again....

To be honest many told me that the 990GO was only repairable from this fault by LG, but I have proved them wrong.... I have to say a massive thanks to omoghan_2t7 who helped me till well after midnight last night but together its fixed.....

I will make a dz file of the firmware I used and make it available to other if it offers them a rescue...

Yes, we need a firmware for KU990GO. Can you upload your LGAPP folder ? I will make a smooth and fast firmware.

Also why "omoghan_2t7" ? :P

Please help.. i mistakenly renamed TOTO to LGAP instead of LGAPP. Now the phone just flashes LG screen and wont connect through the EFS .... Please help !!!

Hey .. i think if you try putting the phone into Gang Image Mode .. that should allow you to change the folder name.

Press the Red (End Call) key to start your phone.
When the LG Logo is displayed, hold down the Green (Call) + C (Delete) + Red (End Call) + Image Stabiliser (Lock) buttons.
Keep holding the buttons down (it can take up to 10 seconds) until a yellow screen with the text ‘Gang Image Mode’ is displayed.

You can now connect your phone to your computer with the USB cable and use EFS Explorer as usual.
