Exclamation 3 Post system

As everyone is aware, when you register for the forum their is a system in place that prevents you from starting a new thread before you have replied to at least 3 existing threads.

The purpose of this system is to combat automated spam bots and have a more secure registration system.

Now, while I understand that this may seem like drag if you really need to post a new thread, it is not acceptable to just post 3 replies just for the sake of it, for example I have seen several users just posting "I agree" when it has nothing to do with the topic or previous posts.

The end outcome will be that these posts are deleted and you will go back to having less than 3 posts total. It is not our aim here at MGP to issue such warnings but surely you can all see that all you are doing is spamming up the forums with pointless and unnecessary posts.

9 times out of 10, the answer to your all important question is only a search away. So I ask for everyones support in keeping the forums as clean and as slick as possible by respecting other users, because it's their threads that you are dumping your junk in making it harder for people to find things.

Thankyou all

I agree with this policy, but I would suggest raising it. I know that sounds harsh, but I reckon a figure as high as 15 or 25 will work better. People can just put a half-hearted 3 replies in. At 25 they would have to actually want to post, rather than just posting 3 times, then posting a thread on what they signed up for.

no, but it does not stop you sending a PM to the user who, you think, may be able to help you the most. If you get a reply then you asked a valid question,. If you dont, it is more than likely that you can find your answer by looking through the forums or searching

I reckon this is a good system but I agree with Habylyb and reckon it should raised. I didn't even notice this rule when I signed up lol!! I normally only reply to thread, not make new ones unless I can't find it lmao.
