Signature spam will NOT be tollerated

It is becoming obvious that numerous members are taking advantage of the signature function by promoting websites, whether they be their own or someone they sponsor in some way.

Well it stops now, ONLY sites that relate to someones question may be posted. They must not be advertised in signatures.

Failure to abide by forum rules makes you just as bad as the proffessional spammers and will result in a permanent ban in most cases.

The Admin/Mod team strives to keep spam to a minimum and need everyones help in cutting it out of this great forum.

Please continue to report posts containing spam and we will continue to banish the offenders.

To see just how many spammers have been banned then go to the "view forum leaders" at the bottom of the main forum and scroll down.

The Admin team is continuing in it's fight to stop spam bots from even registering.

To add to this; I can see why you'd want to put your links in this forum, it's quite popular and has a good Google Pagerank, you think by adding your links here, the inbound links to your site will raise it's profile right?......

wrong! If you know that much about SEO, you must also understand the use of rel="nofollow". It's added before any links within the site and basically tells Google not to follow the link, and so your efforts are totally wasted. The link will not be followed, your site will get no benefit, you will be banned.

This goes for general spammers who post links in their threads also.

We're doing all we can to calm the spam atm. Over the weekend I'll be introducing some new procedures to the registration process to try and help the issue.
