Viewty II to launch June, not long to wait.

Viewty-2-revealed-gc900-frontSo it’s no surprise that here at MGP we have a bit of a thing for the Viewty. LG’s non-existent support of the handset opened up a great oppertunity for a support forum and so ku990.co.uk (now known as MyGreatPhone.com) was born.

Well the sequel to the the very successfull (but slightly flawed handset) is set to rear its head this June according to some pretty solid sources.

The GC900 (as it’s officially known) has the following specs:

  • 3D S-Class UI
  • 3-inch WVGA touchscreen
  • Accelerometer
  • 8 megapixel camera with xenon flash
  • Manual and auto focus
  • Image stabilization
  • ISO 1600 support
  • A-GPS geotagging
  • Slow motion video
  • DivX and Xvid playback
  • 32GB of expandable storage
  • WiFi and 7.2Mbps HSDPA data

All sound very sexy, lets just hope that theres a little more support, and a little less bugs with this one.

    Oh c'mon.
    What a piece of tripe.
I've used the LG Viewty, and the LG Shine before it.

LG do GREAT hardware, but the software sucks.
They use a Flash OS with more bugs in it than an ant farm!
The Viewty even had bad hardware issues - my flash popped on me when my phone was in standby mode, and the zoom is sort of broken meaning that the volume goes up and down whenever it wants (no touching of the zoom ring is required!).

After using two LG phones over the last 2 years, I can't WAIT to give it up and go back to Nokia, using the Symbian OS.

If LG ever decide to put Android, Linux, BSD, or any REAL OS onto their phones, then perhaps they will win me back.
But it's not just me, but other people too, who are cringing at the FIRMWARE on LG's phones, and swearing never to come back.

.. Learn from your mistakes LG - before it's too late!!

it would be nice to see a camera phone do what the public wants and the makers claim.i have a mk1 viewty and all the upgrades from web sites seem to be copies/look-alikes of the iphone apps and themes.could the day come when iphone users up-load viewty apps and themes.if phone makers have the technology to make handsets to be filled by these after-market apps etc,why cant they put them on THEIR web sites and have them down-loaded BEFORE it hits the market place.it seems to me that the viewty was a bit of a rush to steal the iphone thunder but not be too over the top to make the omnia etc look more apealing.lg should do a bit more market research and find out what the public really wants.im having problems with loading after market apps so a phone that has better web back up would be better.i dont change phones very often(4yrs last one),im not into the latest must have, but a bit of customer back up would be nice.lg has FAILED on support.my next phone????
