No Ice Cream Sandwich for Sony Ericsson Xperia Play!

Article by on Sunday, 27 May 2012

With HTC and Moto rolling out their ICS upgrades alongside some other manufacturers the spotlight is turning to Sony to make good on their promises.

Yes they’ve stupidly left their most current releases to last in the upgrade list, but they did say they would be updating the entire Xperia line to ICS over the course of the next few weeks.

However there has been a hiccup, the ICS update being used on other Xperia line handsets has caused issues with the Xperia play, and it looks like it now will not be getting the android 4.0 boost after all.

Sony (Ericsson) devices still scheduled for Ice Cream Sandwich are:

  • Xperia Arc and Arc S
  • Xperia Neo and Neo V
  • Xperia mini and mini pro
  • Xperia Pro
  • Xperia Active
  • Xperia Ray
  • xperia S
  • Sony Live with Walkman
